Homestead Hardware, LLC - Return Policy
Homestead Hardware, LLC strives to provide and deliver high-quality products to our customers. If you are not satisfied with an eligible product purchased from us, you may request a return in accordance with the policy below.
Returns must be initiated within 45 days of the date of delivery of your order.
We encourage all customers to inspect their orders immediately upon receipt - it is your responsibility to check that all goods you received from Homestead Hardware have been delivered correctly as ordered and are in satisfactory condition. (Warranty claims can be made outside the 45-day period. See "Warranty Claims" below.)
Returns must have a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number issued by Homestead Hardware. You can obtain an RGA number by contacting us via our Contact Form or by emailing us directly at returns@homesteadhardware.com. In your message to us, please provide your order number, the list of products and quantities you wish to return, and the reason for return.
Returned goods must meet the following guidelines to be considered for refund:
- Documented in a valid RGA issued by Homestead Hardware
- In original brand-new condition
- Must not have been installed or altered
- Be free of damage and defects (unless delivered in such condition)
- Kept in original packaging, with all parts/manuals/etc. intact
- Originally purchased from Homestead Hardware
Only complete product sets are eligible to be returned for a refund. Individual parts and pieces contained in a product's box (such as screws, latch parts, etc.) are not eligible for return or refund.
Your returned product(s) may be subject to applicable restocking fees (see "Restocking Fees" below).
If your product was delivered to you defective, damaged, or packed incorrectly, Homestead Hardware will provide a return shipping label for your use to return the product. Shipping costs of all other returns are the responsibility of the customer.
Customers are responsible for using proper packing materials and methods such as boxes, padding/stuffing, and packing tape to ensure the returned goods will be safe from damage during transit. We highly recommend customers use a trackable, insured shipping method such as UPS or FedEx for making returns. Returned goods that arrive damaged as a result of poor packing will not be eligible for refund.
Once returns are received, customers will receive the applicable refund (see "Refunds").
Restocking Fees
Most of the products we sell are custom-assembled per order by the manufacturer. This means returned products must be disassembled back into their individual components to be made reusable for future orders. Unfortunately this means restocking fees apply to most returns. Below is a list of restocking fees by manufacturer.
- Bravura - 30% restocking fee on all product returns. 40% restocking fee on all special split-style or split-finish products
- Emtek - 30% restocking fee on all returns
- Johnson Hardware - 35% restocking fee
- All other returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee.
Restocking fees will not apply to returns of products that were delivered to you damaged, defective, or fulfilled incorrectly. Those types of issues or mistakes are on us to resolve for you!
Refunds
Once Homestead Hardware receives your return, you will be given a refund equal to the original amount you paid for the product less all applicable restocking fees. Refunds will be issued to the credit card used to complete the original transaction.
Please allow 2-3 weeks for Homestead Hardware to process refunds after receiving your return. Any shipping costs that you paid when you placed your original order are not eligible for refund.
Exchanges
We do not process direct exchanges through the original order. To obtain a different product, please place a new order and return the original item for refund in accordance with this Return Policy.
Warranty Claims
Certain products may be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, if any, and such warranty coverage is provided solely by the manufacturer in accordance with that manufacturer’s warranty terms and conditions. Warranty claims can be made at anytime as long as your product is still covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Contact us for assistance with making a warranty claim and have your original order details ready for us to reference. Most manufacturer warranties cover mechanical failure/defects, and some limited finish issues. More information for a particular manufacturer's warranty can be found on any product page for that brand, or on the manufacturer's direct website. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Homestead Hardware does not provide a separate written warranty on the products sold through this website.
Initiate a Return
A return is considered initiated once the customer has been issued an RGA (Return Goods Authorization) number from Homestead Hardware. Returns must be initiated within 45 days of the delivery date of the goods.
To request an RGA number, please submit a request through our contact form, call us at 419-684-5438, or email us at returns@homesteadhardware.com. Your RGA number will be emailed to you along with instructions for making the return.
Your RGA will expire in 30 business days from the date it is issued by Homestead Hardware. If we do not receive your full return within 30 days of issuing an RGA, you may no longer be eligible to make a return.
Returns received without a documented RGA or an expired RGA may not be eligible for a refund or credit.
